Crawford, KS to Devil's Den, AR

The day began in Crawford State Park, after an impressive night in which two inches of rain reportedly fell. It certainly sounded like it on the roof of the bus and all was moist and damp in the morning. We headed south and, now almost exactly where we were two days ago, decided to detour 15 miles and revisit Iantha for a few pictures that we had failed to take on day seventeen. This, unfortunately, got Brian going on the house hunt thing again and we ended up heading to nearby Lamar to follow up on one avenue we had not before, looking at deeds of sale in the recorder's office. It turned out to be very interesting, not very helpful in the hunt for the house, and pretty time consuming. We did find a deed signed by Brian's great, great, great grandmother for some property she had sold that was not what we were looking for. Ultimately, we did not get any useful information on the house in the photograph, but met many more nice folks.
Very late in the afternoon we began our trek south into Oklahoma, intending to stay in an Oklahoma State Park near the Arkansas border. If there was a sign for it we must have driven right past it. We pulled into, quite a bit later, Devil's Den State Park in Arkansas and hit the hay.
