Day Seventy-three - Aug 20, 2000
Snag Junction, Yukon to Anchorage, AK
Daily Didactic
The day began at Snag Junction Provincial Campground early, as we could almost smell home. While 500 miles seems like a long drive on a normal day, it is but child's play for us. We laugh at 500 mile days. We eat up 500 mile days and spit them... Oops, sorry about that, just a little giddy. We left the campground and drove through Beaver Creek, across the US/Canadian border, through Tok, Glenallen, Palmer and on into Anchorage, arriving in the late afternoon. We were greeted by Brian's folks, some very comfy furniture, and a great meal. It was a perfect ending to a pretty long drive.
On the off chance you can't see the summary at the top of the page, our trip took us seventy three days, 20,000 miles, around the perimeter of the country, to a lot of great places to see, and to a lot of great people to visit with. Thanks to everyone who gave us a place to stay along the way, and thanks to the rest of you for tagging along. We've enjoyed your emails and we hope you've enjoyed the trip.
See ya,
Brian and Theresa
