Day Three - Jun 15, 2011
Trim, Ireland to Malinmore, Ireland
Daily Didactic
Today started in the lovely Highfield House B&B. Breakfast was also lovely, and Brian had a lovely plate of breakfast meats called a "traditional Irish breakfast". After packing, Todd climbed back into the wrong side of the car for driving and we headed (after one last trip to Trim castle for another photo) to Newgrange. Newgrange is a prehistoric mound that was used in the 3000 b.c.s or so for burial of cremated folk. It was pretty amazing to look at outside and the tour took us inside, which was a little like a cave tour. Around 3:00 we loaded up and headed across country to Donegal County and our evening's lodging in Malinmore. Cori and Jill agreed, disagreed, agreed to disagree and delivered us through some of the most beautiful countryside we've seen. A little after 7:00 we checked in quickly at our B&B and ran (by way of car) to the incredibly picturesque village of Glencolmcille for dinner. After dinner and a pint or two we hit the hay, hoping for decent weather for a little hillwalking tomorrow.
