Day Seven - Jun 18, 2014
Grindavik, ISL to Reykjavik, ISL
Daily Didactic
We seem to be completely adjusted to the time zone change at this point, rising at 9:30. After a quick breakfast of leftover road food, we reployed all of our gear back into our packs and cleaned up our little camper. We swung back by the Bryggan Cafe for a cup of coffee and a little internet, which let us confirm a meeting time with Arnar (whose apartment we will be renting for the evening) and hit the road around 11:30. The journey to Reykjavik took us back past the Blue Lagoon on the road to Keflavik. We hung a right on Iceland's only freeway and (after getting only mildly lost) were back at Kuku Campers by 12:45. We dropped off our luxurious Mitsubishi Pajero and hopped the city bus back to downtown. We killed time with some awesome Icelandic meat (which means lamb) soup and met our host Arnar at 2:30. After securing the keys to his kingdom, we wandered the main tourist drag Laugavegur Street for a while and long enough to find some dinner makings and beverages. We had a lovely lamb steak dinner, did some laundry and relaxed before calling it an early night to line us up for the 5:30 Flybus we'll be catching in the a.m..
