Daily Didactic

Our day began at the ridiculous hour of 5:00am. We did some last minute luggage contents shuffling, called an ultimately very questionable Uber, and made it to the airport by 6:00 for our 6:30 boarding. Through security in a few minutes, we did some B and C concourse laps until it was our turn to climb into the exit row. The exit row is generally regarded as a poor man's first class, and it suits us perfectly. The rest of the day was spent between airplane seats and the American Express Centurion lounges in Seattle and Los Angeles. We've taken to breaking up our long hauls with 3-4 hour layovers where we can get some generally excellent "free" lounge food. The layovers makes for long travel days, but it feels much more relaxing than just jumping from plane to plane. Starting our last leg in LA around 11:00pm, we climbed aboard flight 1353 to Guatemala City determined to get a little sleep before our final leg of land travel in the morning.
