Daily Didactic

So, we realized a few days ago that the way Brian scheduled our Copenhagen lodging and night train months ago in Anchorage seemed right, but actually gave us one extra full day in Amsterdam at the cost of Copenhagen. We ended up with three and a half days in Amsterdam and more like one and a half in Copenhagen. Unfortunate, but in the big scheme of things only our second scheduling screw up of the trip, so all things in perspective... We got into Copenhagen about an hour late and somehow a little exhausted from our night train. We met our apartment host Jacob at his place around 11:30 and he explained everything, gave us a key, and took off. Another really nice pad in a non-touristy part of Copenhagen. We headed out for a bite to eat at a deli Jacob recommended (which turned out to be quite tasty), returned to our flat, and promptly fell asleep and hung out for the rest of the afternoon. Feeling a little guilty, we went out for a nice walk in the early evening exploring the Vesterbro neighborhood and eventually hit the local supermarket for some dinner makings. Back at the apartment we whipped up some Danish beef and chicken for dinner and watched the opening ceremonies of the Olympics before calling it a really nice and touristically unproductive day. The day was a little scarce on photos as we forgot the camera later in the day. We've thrown in a few of the kind that don't usually make the web page to round things out.
